Almost all of us must have been in a situation in office where we had to send bulk mails as a personalized mail to each client with their name (E.G : Dear Roshan Pillai,). Normally we would have to send such mails one by one to each client, other option includes purchasing a mass mailing software which could be costly, third option is using mail merge. But usually you cannot send more than 100 emails using mail merge on your company’s email id as there are mailing limits. So what would you do in such a situation???
I can help you make your work life a bit easier by using Google Scripts. No, you do not need any programming experience to accomplish this as it is already coded and ready to use, its based on a code by Amit Agarwal of Digital Inspiration. It works on Google docs platform and uses Google spreadsheet as a Data Base and you can send 500 mails a day using this!!!. I have modified the code a bit.

Once your enter the recipient name and email address, fill in the senders info and message body. Once done, click on ‘mail merge’ option on top and then click on ‘start mail merge’, it will send the mails to the email addresses you entered. It also shows the status of mails next to the email address. If it was sent successfully it will display ‘OK’.
You can also import your Google contacts if you wish to!.
